Safeguarding and Code of Conduct

Certificate with decorative leaf border stating DBS Checked English Baháʼí Summer Schools.

Safeguarding:

Safeguarding is taken very seriously at the Summer School and provides working principles to protect all the young people present up to the age of 17 years. All those working with these young people are fully trained and DBS checked, including the organising team.

The Summer School Thoughtful Code of Conduct:

The concept of encouraging responsible behaviour is based on the idea that at the Summer School we are an enlarged family, and just as a family has parameters or guidance around behaviour to ensure everyone is respected and nurtured, so in the Summer School this approach is intended to be helpful in developing the skills needed to thrive in communities.

By attending the Summer School, you agree to uphold the following principles:

  • Be constantly sensitive to the differing needs of each other
  • Demonstrate thoughtfulness and friendship towards all
  • Be of service whenever and wherever a need is seen
  • Practice moderation in behaviour and speech
  • Always strive to do your best
  • Encourage mutual and self-respect
  • Strive to apply spiritual principles at all times
  • Attend all sessions punctually to demonstrate respect for others
  • Resolve any concerns through consultation with the appropriate person

Safeguarding and Code of Conduct will be included within the Welcome Pack, which will be emailed once you have registered.
