If he attends his summer school — and everyone without exception is urged to take advantage of attending it — let him consider such an occasion as a welcome and precious opportunity so to enrich, through lectures, study, and discussion, his knowledge of the fundamentals of his Faith as to be able to transmit, with greater confidence and effectiveness, the Message that has been entrusted to his care.
Shoghi Effendi, Advent of Divine Justice

Designed uniquely for the English Bahá’í Summer Schools, it symbolises the circular unity between our accumulated knowledge and its application through the wealth of skills we collectively possess.
The pen symbolises the illumination of the mind; the pursuit of knowledge, and understanding through study, reflection, consultation and action. It represents the disciplined act of learning and applying ideas that build unity and peace. Within the Summer School, it reminds us that true peace begins with enlightened thought, and insight must lead to action.
The brush serves as a metaphor for the arts in all their forms: painting, music, consultation, drama, administration, film, communication, dance, parenting and beyond. It represents the creative impulse of the heart, giving shape to ideas and emotions through beauty and expression. Not confined to pigment and canvas, the brush symbolises any medium through which the soul communicates and uplifts, transforming understanding into inspiration and action.
